Introduction and Product Overview

Almost all Power Factor correction systems designed and installed are suitable for balanced loads consisting majorly industries. There are no systems designed to correct the power factor of imbalanced loads like lightings, Air conditioners, single phase motors, electronics control systems normally where these loads are dominantly higher than 10 %. Here Power factor correction is big challenge to experts and not able to maintain above 0.96. the equation is like More the domination of load, more complications in PF correction.

CTR has Designed Developed and implemented Neutral PF Compensators (NPFC) and successfully maintained Power Factor above 0.9996 in the most critical applications.

Working Principle:

Multiple Single Phase Capacitors connected in star, switched through soft switches and controlled through individual PF correction Modules and injecting leading required reactive power through Neutral path in order to maintain the target power factor.

It is recommended to be installed with the electrical supply system where the Power Factor problems are already identified and solution is designed.

 

It is also important to know the overall effect of the problem to be resolved by usage of right rating of the system.

Unit is put in Shunt with the Electrical Load with Power Factor issues. The said unit can be put in system in only 4-Wire (Ph-1, Ph-2, Ph-3, N) mode which is the most recommended mode can’t perform wherein the Neutral is not connected. Neutral conductor sizing shall be kept equal to the phase conductor, since the equal current will flow some times in case of 100 % Imbalanced load condition.
